Rutnin Eye Hospital is Thailand’s first hospital dedicated solely to eye health. It is the most successful and widely accepted basis for treatment in the field of ophthalmology. It also pioneered the development of Thai eye therapy research and technology to meet international standards. “Chaksu Ratnin” is Thailand’s first eye-specialized hospital. Professor Dr. Uthai Ratnin, an ophthalmologist, founded and led the ophthalmology department at Ramathibodi Hospital in 1964. He conducted successful study on the internal properties of the retina (Peripheral Retina) in normal conditions. This idea is still widely used as a reference standard among ophthalmologists globally.
